The communities of Manayunk, Roxborough and East Falls gave education a voice on Ridge Ave on May 20 during a rally against the proposed school budget cuts. The Roxborough Corridor Parents’ group, which includes parents of students from Shawmont, Dobson, AMY-Northwest, Cook-Wissahickon, Mifflin Elementary Schools; as well as Roxborough and Lankenau High School, will rally in Gorgas Park. Many help signs reading: “Music Saves Lives”, “Real Schools not Cyber Scams” and “I’m Worth It”. Students and parents were joined by faculty and staff of their respective schools.
